50 new jobs are coming to Galway as part of an expansion by Centripetal.
The Cybersecurity company will open its European Cyber Intelligence Centre of Excellence, designed to address cybersecurity opportunities in the UK, Ireland and across Europe.
Platform 94 in Mervue will be the company's location, formally known as Galway Technology Centre.
The project is supported by IDA Ireland.
Ireland’s cybersecurity market is valued at €280 million, while Grant Thornton Ireland reports that the cost of cybercrime in Ireland exceeded €9.6 billion in 2020.
US company Centripetal says it plans to bring its technologies to the European market to protect organizations from every known cyberthreat.
Minister Hildegarde Naughton welcomed the expansion, saying “Today's jobs announcement is yet another vote of confidence in Galway, in our available skilled workforce and in our city and county as a great place to work and live.”
