The Minister for Disability ,Galway East TD, Anne Rabbitte will tomorrow (Tues) host a public meeting with the Minster for Agriculture, Charlie McConalogue in Athenry.
The ‘Working for Rural Ireland’ event is taking place in the Community Hall in the town.
The event gets underway at 8.45pm and Minister McConalogue  will discuss a variety of issues facing farmers across Galway, as well as his plans for the next number of years to support rural Ireland. He will also be taking questions from those in attendance.
Minister Rabbitte says Minister McConalogue knows the importance of farming in Galway East having visited different parts of the county with her since 2020, as well as the difficulties facing farm families. "He is keen to hear from people directly about what they see as working and where extra focus is needed, in relation to CAP, Climate Change and other schemes being rolled out for farmers".
