There are 565 people waiting for beds in Irish hospitals according to today’s INMO trolley watch figures.
Of the national count, the busiest across the region is at University Hospital Galway, where there are 38 people waiting.
Elsewhere, Sligo University Hospital is just behind with 36 waiting, and there are 21 in Mayo University Hospital in Castlebar as well as 14 in Portiuncla Hospital in Ballinasloe.
The biggest figure nationally is in Cork University Hospital, where there are 88 people waiting.
