Average monthly rents for new tenancies have reached an all-time high.
The latest report, by property listings website Daft.ie, found average monthly rent is now € 1,750, up 12 per cent year-on-year.
However, rents around the country rose by just 1 per cent in the first three months of the year compared with the last quarter of 2022.
Author of the report and Associate Professor of Economics at Trinity College Dublin, Ronan Lyons, says rents in some parts of the country actually fell at the start of the year.
