Mayo IFA are holding an information meeting for suckler cow farmers in Claremorris this evening.
Mayo IFA Livestock Representative T J Duffy is encouraging suckler cow farmers to attend the meeting to gain a greater insight into the new Suckler Scheme known as the Suckler Carbon Efficiency Programme (SCEP).
Mr Duffy says that the scheme is complex in its’ nature, however it is an essential compartment in maintaining Sucker Cow farmer’s incomes going forward and should be seriously considered by suckler farmers who have not yet applied.
The closing date for the new SCEP is May 22nd next.
Speakers from ICBF, Bord Bia, and IFA will address the meeting which gets underway this evening in The McWilliam Park Hotel Claremorris at 9 pm.
