The excessive delay with the building of the long promised Community Nursing Home in Clifden is not acceptable, according to Galway West Deputy Eamon O’Cuiv.

The Fianna Fail Deputy insists that steps must be taken by the HSE to shorten the process, and ensure the speedy delivery of an urgently needed project.

He claims that the greatest cause of inflated prices for capital projects is delay.

He told Midwest News Editor Teresa O’Malley that the people of West Connemara are now left without a vital facility which is required to replace the present Clifden Hospital and St Anne’s Nursing Home:
