The Health Minister says his department and the HSE are actively looking at ways to provide accommodation to healthcare workers.
Stephen Donnelly says University Hospital Galway has spoken to him about potentially restoring an old nurses home onsite.
While the Mater Hospital in Dublin is looking at either purchasing property nearby, or building its own individual block.
