Locals and visitors alike are invited to “step into our story” as a number of the national landmarks across Mayo that the OPW holds in trust for the nation reopen for the season.

Across the country, 70 historical and heritage sites are now opening to the public for 2023.

Gretta Byrne OPW Manager at the Céide Fields in North Mayo says the centre offers visitors the opportunity to experience the oldest and most extensive Stone Age monument in the world, dating back almost 6,000 years.

On the first Wednesday of every month, visitors and families can enjoy free admission to the Céide Field Visitor Centre.
