Today is international Women's Day, a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women.
To mark the festivities around International Women’s Day, a fund raising lunch for Rock Rose House and Mayo Pink Ribbon is being hosted by Soroptimists International Castlebar on Saturday next (March 11th) .
The event takes place at 1.30pm in Breaffy House Hotel.
Soroptimists International is a voluntary organisation that works to transform the lives and status of women and girls through education, empowerment and enabling opportunities.
Derville Rowland, Deputy Governor of the Central Bank, and a Castlebar native, is the main speaker at Saturday’s event that includes music, food, stylists and more.
