Labour's spokesman for sport is urging the governement to launch a nationwide campaign to tackle abuse of referees in Irish sports.
The "Silent Sidelines" campaign - which asks spectators to keep their thoughts to themselves - has already been implemented in various football and GAA clubs across the country but Mark Wall says it needs government backing.
In October last year, the GAA launched a 'Respect the Referee' weekend, for senior county finals across one weekend.
