In the early hours of this morning a man was injured after a fire broke out in a mobile home located along the N5 road, outside Castlebar
At about a quarter past 2 this morning a passerby alerted the emergency services to a fire they noticed in a mobile home, located behind the Half Way House, located along the N5 between Castlebar and Westport.
A man living in the mobile home was rescued by the fire services. He had sustained significant burns and was taken from the scene by ambulance to Mayo University Hospital.
Significant damage was caused to the mobile home.
Two units of the fire brigade attended the scene.
Gardai say they are investigating the cause of the fire and investigations into the incident are underway.
