Speculation has been mounting over the past week of the potential visit of US President Joe Biden to Ireland this year.

Locally, excitement is starting to build in County Mayo, and particularly in Ballina – a town that is celebrating 300 years in existence this year.

The last time President Biden visited Ireland, which was before his presidency began, he visited the Mayo town where he has relations.

The prospect of having the President in Ballina has been welcomed by Independent Councillor for the Ballina Municipal District Mark Duffy.
