The Taoiseach says the Government will provide support to the 240 people who lost their jobs at Google this morning.

85 of the layoffs will be in sales, 80 will go in technology and engineering, and 75 will impact support functions.

Google's parent company, Alphabet, last month announced plans to cut around 12-thousand jobs, or 6 per cent of its global workforce.
