Gardaí and emergency services received report of an incident involving a fishing vessel off the North West coast of Donegal yesterday evening, Saturday 4th February 2023.
A male crew member of the vessel went overboard before being recovered by crewmates. He was pronounced deceased on board the vessel.
The boat made land at Ballyglass Co. Mayo where it was met by Gardaí and ambulance personnel.
The body of the man, aged in his late 30s, has been taken to Mayo General Hospital where a post mortem will take place.
An examination of the shipping vessel will be conducted.
