I took Irish paramedics over ten hours to respond to an emergency call made last year, according to the National Ambulance Service.

A recent report in the Sunday Mirror shows sheer "volume of work" was attributed to the long wait times.

Figures also reveal there were over 900 delayed responses due to the "distance involved" in some trips.

Cork was the most badly affected county with 667 patients left waiting over an hour for an ambulance in 2022.
