More than 30 Western Brand raw chicken products are being recalled because of salmonella detection.

Western Brand Chicken is located on the Knock Road, Ballyhaunis.

The company is recalling expired batches of raw chicken products due to the detection of the infection. These products were sold as fresh and are past their use-by date, however, the labels state they are suitable for home freezing. Recall notices will be displayed at point-of-sale.

The Food Safety Authority says infection can trigger a number of symptoms, the most common of which is diarrhoea.

The products are sold in Dunnes, Aldi, Lidl, Tesco and BWG foods supermarkets like Spar, MACE and Londis.
