Patients presenting at the Emergency Departments of hospitals across the region are experiencing long delays again today.

According to the latest trolley watch figures from the INMO,there are 49 patients on trolleys waiting for admission to Galway University Hospital, 31 patients waiting for beds at Sligo university Hospital, 27 patients on trolleys at Portiuncula University Hospital and 26 patients on trolleys at Mayo University Hospital.

Nationally today there are 639 patients on trolleys, with the highest number at Cork University Hospital, with 56 patients waiting for beds.

The national figure has fallen significantly compared to yesterday.

INMO figures show a drop three days in a row.

Yesterday's was 838 and it was over 900 on Tuesday.

Sinn Fein says it's no surprise doctors are annoyed at being asked to 'do more' by the Health Minister.
