Construction works to a south Mayo school have gone to tender, according to Mayo Fine Gael deputy Alan Dillon.
An extension to The Neale National School, Ballywalter, will include additional accommodation of a modular classroom, a user assisted WC, a special Education Needs (SEN) Unit with a hard and soft play area.
The plans also include a sensory garden and six additional car parking spaces on the grounds of the school.
Deputy Dillon says this is a very popular school and he’s delighted to see that the plans are progressing for this extension. The school currently has 130 students and seven teachers while this extension will see it expand further.
