A Sligo/Leitrim TD and his family claim they are being forced to leave their home, after some traumatic incidents in the past three years.

Aughavas, County Leitrim native, Martin Kenny and his wife Helen and four children are hoping to move to a new home in Carrick-on-Shannon as soon as possible.

The Sinn Fein politician says two serious incidents at the property have left his wife and children traumatised and he sees no other option but to move out of the area.

Speaking to The Sligo Champion, Deputy Kenny said that he did not want to move but felt it was 'the only option' after the horrific incidents at his home.

In 2019 there was an arson attack on his home and another incident in September last, 2022, saw a car drive through an electric fence before colliding with their garage.
