Ireland West Airport Knock have announced a strong return for 2022, as 722,000 passengers used the airport throughout the year.
Passenger numbers increased by 314%, in comparison to the 174,000 users in 2021.
When compared to pre-COVID levels, passenger numbers recovered to 89% of the record 2019 level of 807,000 passengers.
Impressive figures for the airport included the increase in those travelling to and from Mainland and Continental Europe, hitting a new high in surpassing the 2019 levels – an increase of 9% to 138,621.
Along with Shannon Airport, Ireland West became the first airports in the world to be recognized as Age Friendly by the World Health Organisation.
