Gardaí and the Health and Safety Authority investigating an incident on a farm near Gort in County Galway in which a man in his 20s has died.
The man has been named locally as Colie Kearney.
The incident occurred Monday morning on a farm in Kilbeacanty.
According to the Gardaí, the man was pronounced dead at the scene and his body was taken to University Hospital Galway for a post mortem examination.
This incident is the first workplace and farm fatality of the New Year.
