A newly extended and refurbished Penneys store has opened today in Eyre Square shopping centre, Galway.
The Mayor of Galway Clodagh Higgins officially opened the €20m extension this morning.
Following a 20 million euro expansion, the store is now 50% larger, with a new lower ground floor.
Primark say it shows its commitment to its Irish arm of the business.
Penneys are now looking for staff in the newly expanded Eyre Square premises.
180 jobs are to be created with 50 of these permanent and 130 temporary seasonal roles.
These new roles will bring the total number of people employed at Penneys in Eyre Square, Galway to 355.
