Tomorrow (November 22 2022), Irish water will launch a public consultation on plans to provide more secure and sustainable water supply to homes and businesses across the North West over the next 25 years.
The three month consultation on the Regional Water Resource Plan – North West aims to supply more reliable water flow to 732,700 customers in the region.
Counties included in the plan are; Cavan, Donegal, Galway, Leitrim, Mayo, Monaghan, Sligo and parts of Clare, Longford, Louth, Meath and Roscommon.
Eight coastal island are also included in the region
Legislation, climate change, the environment, growth and economic development are among the areas that the plan will concentrate on.
Irish water aim for their National Plan to provide a transparent roadmap on how they will plan for their water assets to align with the national policy.
Public consultations for the Regional Water Resource Plan – North West will continue until February 21 2023.
