Ireland is facing a 16 percent increase in road deaths for 2022, according to new data.

Statistics compiled by the Irish Independent found county Sligo has the largest rate of fatal road collisions per capita, at 8.59

Six people have been killed on Sligo roads this year, compared to one person in 2021.

Monaghan, Limerick and Cavan also have had high rates of fatal road collision this year.
