Patients presenting at hospital emergency departments across the region are experiencing significant delays this afternoon.

According to the latest INMO trolley watch figures there are 42 patients on trolleys waiting for admission to Galway University Hospital, 32 patients on trolleys at Sligo University Hospital,  20 patients on trolleys at Mayo University Hospital waiting for beds and 16 patients without beds at Portiuncula University Hospital.

Nationally there are 548 patients without beds today at hospitals across the country. The highest number on trolleys again today is the University Hospital of Limerick, with 77 patients on trolleys.
