There won't be a Stormont election in December.

The Secretary of State, Chris Heaton-Harris, said he has made the decision after listening to concerns about the impact and cost.

An election legally has to be called within 12 weeks of the 28th of October, which was the deadline for resolving the power-sharing deadlock at Stormont.

A statement will be made in Parliament next week to lay out next steps.
