CLEAN Clean Coasts announced the winners of the 13th edition of their Love Your Coast photography competition during an in-person award ceremony in the Smock Alley Theatre, in Dublin last night.
The competition invites photographers to capture the uniqueness of our coastal landscape, heritage, wildlife, communities and more, and to submit their shots across five categories.
There were over a thousand entries to this year’s competition and the 50 best images were shortlisted and displayed at our event at Smock Alley.
Darragh Gorman with his “Splash”, captured in Mullaghmore Co. Sligo has been awarded the title of Image of the Year.
Brian Wilson with “Weathering the Storm” captured at Broadhaven Lighthouse, Ballyglass, Co. Mayo, was awarded the second place prize in the Coastal Heritage Category.
Kevin Foley with “Croaghaun Sea Cliffs” taken on Achill Island, was awarded the second place prize in the Coastal Landscape Category.
Terry Conroy with “Achill Man” shot at Purteen Harbour, Keel, Achill, secured third in the People and the Coast Category.
Raindrop”, an image captured by Mick Bohan in Killadoon, was shortlisted in the top ten in the Creativity and the Coast Category.
Brian Campbell took the top prize in the Coastal Heritage category with “In the shadow of a giant” taken in Mullaghmore, county Sligo.
While Gary McCall also took gold for his photograph in Mullaghmore, entitled Conor Maguire Surfs the Largest Wave Ever Ridden in Ireland”
