Ballaghaderreen Library, closed to the public for two years now, is due to re-open next Summer, according to Sinn Féin deputy for Roscommon/Galway Claire Kerrane
Roscommon County Council has confirmed to the deputy that consultants have been appointed to manage the refurbishment of the Library.
Consultants were a planning requirement as the premises is a listed building
Works are expected to be completed by the second quarter of next year with a re-opening date of Summer, 2023.
Part of the works include a new My Open Library service, the first in County Roscommon. It will provide automated self-service access to Library facilities for members and will be available 365 days of the year on top of normal staffed hours.
