Rail services have resumed between Galway and Dublin after an animal was struck by a train earlier today.

The incident occurred on a section of the line near Attymon Station in Galway this afternoon.

The line remained closed until around 3:20pm when a crew completed clearing a section of the track.

The 1:05pm and 3:05pm Galway to Heuston services are running 110 and 35 minutes delayed respectively as a result, according to Irish Rail.
