Fianna Fáil members will debate Leo Varadkar's ideas on income tax at the party's Ard Fheis this weekend.

One of the motions put to membership calls for a new income tax rate of 30 per cent on income between 40 and 60 thousand euro a year.

It was something Fine Gael Tánaiste Leo Varadkar pushed for in budget negotiations and is being examined for next year's budget.

Fianna Fáil members will also debate scrapping the USC and rejecting the Taxation Commission proposals on changes to inheritance tax.
