Patients presenting at the Emergency Departments of hospitals across the region today are experiencing significant delays.

There are 32 patients waiting on trolleys for a bed at Mayo University Hospital.

That’s according to the latest figures from INMO Trolley Watch.

The third highest number of patients nationally, waiting on trolleys today, are at Sligo University Hospital, where 45 patients are waiting for admission.

There are 37 patients on trolleys at Galway University Hospital and 15 patients waiting for admission to Portiuncula University Hospital.

Nationally today, there are 489 patients on trolleys waiting for hospital admissions, with the highest number at Limerick University Hospital, at 65.
