The Sacred Heart hospital in Castlebar needs to reopen fully for people who avail of respite services.

That's according to Cathaoirleach of Castlebar MD Michael Kilcoyne who is to raise the issue at Tuesday's meeting of the HSE West regional forum.

Respite services at the hospital were stopped 3 years ago due to the Covid 19 pandemic and are yet to resume normal operations.

For many people, it was their only outlet where they got to meet their friends and take part in activities.
