A man remains stranded inside a sea-cave at Downpatrick Head, off the County Mayo Coast this lunchtime.
Rescue efforts have continued through the night after he was trapped by a rising tide yesterday evening.
A second person - a woman - was brought to safety yesterday by a group of kayakers who were in the area at the time.
However they were unable to reach the man, who's now been around 18 hours inside the cave, with large sea swells complicating rescue attempts.
Gardai and emergency services are at the scene, along with an RNLI Lifeboat, the Irish Coast Guard, Civil Defence and the local Fire Brigade.
Local photo-journalist Fergus Sweeney has been giving more details to Midwest Radio’s News Editor Teresa O’Malley this lunchtime at Downpatrick Head.
