Housing-building costs have increased by an average of 21 per cent over the past year.

The biggest rise was in the north west, at 26 per cent, while the lowest was in Dublin, at 14 per cent.

That's according to the latest House Rebuilding Guide, published by the Society of Chartered Surveyors Ireland.
