Story time continues through Autumn at Westport Library at 3pm every

Story time has proved to be very popular with younger
readers and the library is exploring the interest in providing a story
time for toddlers, so please let the library know if you'd be
interested in attending on 098 25747.

According to Westport Library's Keith Martin "It’s never too early to
start reading to your child. Just five minutes each day can be enough.
Even very young babies respond to being held while hearing the
familiar, calming sound of a book being read aloud.
Story time is an ideal way to foster an interest in reading in a fun and relaxing
environment.  Reading for fun is every bit as important as reading for
knowledge and Story time encourages children to enjoy fiction and to
use their imagination while they develop their literacy skills
Library membership is free and fines and fees have been abolished.
Westport Library is open five days a week and provides access to
online e-books and audiobooks as well as online courses, newspapers
and magazines.
