A ground-breaking plastic film's been developed that can kill viruses that land on its surface with room light.

The breakthrough could lead to a significant reduction in the transmission of viruses like covid-19 and flu in hospitals, and food production factories.

Researchers at Queen's University Belfast say the self-sterilising film could be used for disposable aprons, tablecloths, and curtains in hospitals.
