An Irish pizza spot has been named among the top 100 best pizzas in the world, at a prestigious award ceremony in Naples, Italy, the home of pizza.
Dough Bros Pizza in Galway city was ranked as the 79th best pizza in the world by 50 Top Pizza, a food publication and guide that celebrates the highest culinary achievements in the competitive world of pizza.
The buzzing restaurant, founded by brothers Eugene and Ronan Greaney, was established in 2013 first as a food truck, before making its name with innovative pizzas often called after famous figures.
50 Top Pizza publishes their guides every year, showcasing pizza chefs who use local or seasonal produce to create delicious pizzas regardless of style.
According to their website, 50 Top Pizza carry out a survey that is open to about 150 inspectors in Italy, who are chosen based on their written declaration that they have no direct or indirect business relationships with the pizzerias.
