The Rural Ireland Organisation are to host public meetings both this week and next week to discuss the new Environmental Scheme, ACRES.

Leader of the organisation, Gerry Loftus, says that many farmers are still confused regarding the true terms of the scheme, which he says, have not yet been approved by the Department of Agriculture.

The group will host a public meeting in Killaser community centre this evening at 8:30pm and in Hineys of Crossmolina next Thursday, the 15th at 8:30pm.
