Gardai are investigating a spate of break-ins to private homes in Castlebar and Claremorris on Friday last.
A private house in Baloor, just outside Castlebar, was broken into on Friday morning.
Gardai say “small change/coinage” was all that was taken.
Then sometime after 11 am on Friday morning a house in Derrygarve, Ballyheane was broken into and ransacked.
The house was unoccupied at the time, it’s a holiday home, and when the owner returned on Saturday morning despite the mess, nothing is reported to have been taken.
Then on Friday afternoon,after 3pm, the owner of a house in Mace Upper, Claremorris came on at least two men, wearing suits attempting to break into his home. The two took off in a black Mercedes car, again nothing was reported stolen.
Shortly after 3pm on Friday afternoon a group of horse riders on the road at Barnacarroll, Knock were confronted by what is described as an extremely aggressive motorist.
