Foxford RiverFest 2022 takes place this weekend.
It’s a fun filled family festival held in the town of Foxford, centred around the River Moy.
It takes place tomorrow (Friday) and Saturday and includes a range of activities for all age groups.
A highlight of the annual event, (that is just returning after a pause due to the pandemic), is the “Candles to the Sea” ceremony that takes place at dusk tomorrow (Friday) evening. The ceremony remembers loved ones who have died and their names are floated in lighted containers down the river from Foxford town.
Harry Sweeney is the Chairman of the festival organising committee and he has been telling Midwest News Editor Teresa O’Malley more about the two day event…
