A public meeting will take place this evening (Wed) in Saint Peter and Paul's Church, Straide over the loss of the parish's resident priest.
Last month, parishoners in Straide were shocked to learn that they will no longer have a resident Parish Priest from September.
The Bishop of Achonry, Paul Dempsey, informed the congregation at a Sunday Mass in Straide that from September Fr. Stephen O’Mahony, the Parish Priest in Bohola, will also serve the parishioners of Straide.
Representatives from Straide parish concerned over the loss of their Parish Priest sought and secured a meeting with Bishop Dempsey on Thursday evening last.
At tonight’s meeting, that gets underway at 9pm, the representatives will inform the community what was discussed at that meeting.
