Patients presenting at emergency departments at hospitals across the region today are experiencing delays.

There are 47 patients on trolleys at University Hospital Galway, the second highest figures in the country.

At Sligo University Hospital, there are 39 patients waiting for a bed while 20 patients are waiting at Mayo University Hospital.

There are 18 patients waiting today at Portiuncula Hospital in Ballinasloe.

Nationally, there are 390 patients waiting on trolleys, with the highest figures today at University Hospital Limerick where 57 patients are waiting for admission.
