Mayo Mountain Rescue assisted a woman with a lower limb injury on Croagh Patrick yesterday evening.
The National Ambulance Service alerted Mayo Mountain Rescue about the woman’s injury that occurred below the shoulder of the mountain and three members were deployed as First Response and on arrival they assessed the casualty, splinted her injury, and treated her pain. They also treated the woman for mild hypothermia.
When the stretcher party arrived, she was carried off and handed over to the crew of the waiting ambulance and was brought to Mayo University Hospital.
