An expert on HIV says not devoting most of the resources to fight monkeypox towards LGBT communities would be "homophobic".

The disease has been declared a global health emergency by the WHO and has mainly been discovered in men who have sex with men.

However, there has been criticism that the public health advice risks stigmatising marginalised groups.

Andrew Seale is an adviser to the WHO and says while it's true anyone can catch the disease, it makes sense to target those most as risk.
