The Minister for Transport and Bus Eireann need to step up ensure that a public bus service is available in county Sligo and across the North West and West.

His call comes following further disruption to bus services in the North West over the Bank Holiday weekend.

The 8pm service from Dublin to Sligo and Donegal towns on Sunday night and a number of local services in Sligo town were all impacted on Sunday and yesterday, leaving passengers stranded, yet, again.

Councillor Healy says the service is causing distress to passengers and he believes that Bus Eireann could do more to address the problem.

He told Midwest News Editor Teresa O'Malley that the Minister for Transport Eamon Ryan is ultimately responsible for the service and needs to get answers from Bus Eireann management as to why its service is so unreliable at present…
