The Minister for the OPW was in Galway last night for the official handover of the Warehouse lock-up area at Galway Custom House to Claddagh Watch Patrol for use as a safe and secure area to store their patrol vehicles and equipment.

Claddagh Watch Patrol are a voluntary charitable organisation, with over 75 volunteers, involved in the patrolling of the bridges and river bank areas of Galway City with a view to identifying those showing signs of distress or concerning behaviour and linking with the emergency services.

Minister Patrick O’Donovan this was something he was working on for a considerable length of time.
