Deputy Michael Ring has welcomed progress on the Murrisk Community Water Connection.

Following a meeting on Friday last of elected representatives in the Westport area, it was confirmed that most households in the area have paid their contribution fee for the water scheme.

The Fine Gael TD says a small percentage of people have not paid the connection fee and that the local credit union have made borrowing facilities available at a low rate for anyone who wishes to pay the connection fee.

Deputy Ring says he is looking forward to the areas included in the Murrisk community scheme to have a clean supply of mains water in the not so distant future.
