The North Mayo Pyrite Action Group has expressed disappointment that the revised mica redress scheme was signed into law by President Michael D. Higgins at the weekend.

The Government Bill, which will provide grants of up to €420,000 to homeowners to repair defects caused by Mica and Pyrite, was signed into law by President yesterday.

While the legislation will be up for review in the future, it’s anticipated that any significant changes to the scheme will only happen now with a change in Government.
