The go-ahead's been given to rollout a second covid 19 booster vaccine to 50 to 64 year-olds.

They'll receive the mRNA booster jab in the autumn, along with healthcare workers, pregnant women and 12 to 49 year-olds with an underlying medical condition.

NIAC's recommended extending the booster vaccination programme, which the Interim Chief Medical Officer Professor Breda Smyth has endorsed.

DCU Professor of Health Systems, Anthony Staines says it's also vital those aged 65 and over will get their third booster.
