Intellectual disability and mental health services provider, Nua Healthcare, is to create 470 jobs.

The company which provides residential, supported living, day and community outreach services to children and adults with a range of complex requirements, said the new roles come amid increased demand in the sector.

The jobs are in general nursing, psychiatric nursing, psychiatrists, psychologists, behavioural and occupational therapists.

The company is also recruiting assistant support workers and social care workers.

Nua Healthcare already employs more than 2,000 people across the country.

Nua Healthcare is planning to open seven new facilities in counties Galway, Longford, Cavan, Cork, Carlow, Westmeath and Wicklow.

The new jobs will be based at their facilities nationwide.
